Organizing institution

The Master is organized by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (IAMZ) of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM).

Since its accreditation in 1969, IAMZ is one of the four Mediterranean Agronomic Institutes of CIHEAM, an international organization created in 1962 through an intergovernmental agreement of thirteen member countries of the Mediterranean area: Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey, and whose mission is to provide postgraduate training in the fields of agriculture, economy and the environment. CIHEAM develops two types of training activities: the Master programmes and the short-duration advanced specialized courses. Frequently, the programmes are jointly organized with Higher Education Institutions from the member states. At IAMZ, training is provided by guest experts, highly qualified, selected for their experience and prestige in each subject. These experts come from universities, research centres, international organizations, administrations and firms from all over the world. The CIHEAM Master of Science Degree, issued by IAMZ, is recognized by the Spanish State as equivalent to the official Master Degree of the Spanish university system (Spanish Official Gazette BOE dated 21 November 2006 and BOE dated 20 February 2007). IAMZ is registered in the Spanish Registry of Universities, Centres and Degree (RUCT) of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

Master venue

The first part of the Master takes place in Zaragoza at IAMZ. The second part of the Master is carried out at universities, research centres or businesses that collaborate with IAMZ in this part of the programme.
